It was dark and stormy time on planet earth.....

.... All was not well. Some described it as ‘peak everything’ The forecast was for a bumpy ride…….

What do ya mean ‘everything’?

Like everything we knew and enjoyed ran on cheap oil – but supply no longer met demand and mad America had announced their intention to wage the third world war in the lands where 60% of the world’s oil came from.

Like everything we knew economically was built on growth growth growth but the world’s economy was facing an inescapable major recession.

Like everything that made nature function as a diverse self perpetuating source of life was in chronic decline and the climate upon which all depended had begun freefall change.

And as the Enron model of world management came to its ugly conclusion the mass media chattered upbeat inanities that helped most people believe that everything really could run unsustainably on avarice, fraud and pure bullshit for as good as forever.

It would make one heck of a movie story with Bruce Willis flexing and co-star ‘Twig the wonderkid’ pouting, told 50 years in the future as they look back and try to retell the legends of 'the great turning point' – the big freak out. “Yeah it was one hell of a ride”, said Twig with a grin, “like having multiple apocalypses all at once.”

Aah but this isn’t some future movie – this is now and its ours - an unfolding reality of massive turbulence - and if you are like me, you want to know what comes next and even more so, what you can do - because no one wants to stand naked in the open when a series of hurricanes are not only expected – they are guaranteed.

And then with an even greater roar from the heavens and a blinding flash of light I saw a second banner and unfold and it read……
